The EPA approved and registered many of the pesticides in use today, long before the harmful effects of these chemicals were known.
These chemicals are now in use in the growing of many of the fruits, and vegetables that we consume on a daily basis, and the effect on a person’s health is now becoming aparent.
When growing these foods, commercial farms need to protect the produce from insects, and the best way to do this is to use these chemicals on the produce as it grows.
The problem with this is that these chemicals are absorbed into the fruits and vegetables as they grow, and even when you wash them off, the chemicals can remain inside the food.
Organic foods are grown in soil that has had no chemical pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers added to the soil for a certain period of time.

Over a period of time these can cause harm, and this is why organic foods are so highly recommended for people trying become more healthy.
