Varicose veins or spider veins are very common and are very tough to get rid of. There are several
methods of reducing or removing varicose veins, but most include painful injections and/or surgical
procedures that are as painful if not more so. K-Dermis can help you reduce and in some cases remove
varicose veins!

What Causes Varicose Veins?
You see, the blood flowing to our legs is working against gravity and if elasticity is not maintained then
our veins begin to stretch. This makes the valves in your veins work much harder and they will
eventually fail. This failure allows blood to flow backward and pool in your veins. When this
happens your veins can stretch further and become varicose.
How Bad Can Surgery or Injections Be?
Surgical procedures and Injections can be quite painful and very invasive. We will list a few of the
procedures below.
- Surgical Vein Stripping: This procedure is done in the hospital while the patient is under
general anesthesia. Incisions are made at the bottom (ankle end) and the top (groin end) of the varicose
vein. A thin, wire-like instrument is inserted into the vein. That "strips," or clears, the vein from the
inside. Small incisions can also be made over individual veins to remove them.
- Sclerotherapy: This procedure is done while the patient is standing. The salt solution
is injected into each varicose vein to cause scarring that closes off the vein. An elastic bandage is
wrapped snugly around the legs after the procedure.
- Endovenous Ablation Therapy: This is an outpatient procedure. The therapy uses heat to
destroy vein tissue. A thin catheter (or tube) is inserted into the vein through a tiny skin incision under
local anesthesia. Then, using either a laser or radiowave (radiofreqency) energy, the vein is heated and
cauterized. This closes off the vein.
We don't know about you, but to us it seems like a better idea to try K-Dermis before resorting to any of
the procedures listed above. K-Dermis is pain free and not invasive at all. It's up to you...
